COLOUR MATTERS

Colour can change the value and perception of objects and things. Colourmatters was initiated by the thought of colour as being the subject of fear designer and architects struggle to include from the start of the creative process, especially of those working in the thrid dimension. Throughout my empirical research about colour theory and colour education I discovered the discrepancy between the teaching of colour and the requirements needed in profession.

The developed, three dimensional colour palette was my personal approach to create a playful tool to give at hand to designers when working with colours in the third dimension. Based on my personal colour intuition I created 54 colours to play with and analyse within the third dimension, supporting the choice of colours for products and objects.

Against the background of my theoretical research of colour harmony systems and manifestos I wanted to reveal my own colour harmony intuition. The graphics show the contribution of the chosen colours in value and hue and the corellation of the chosen colour accords.
